The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informed that the first group of believers to enter Paradise will have faces that shine like the full moon on its brightest night, followed by those who are as radiant as the most luminous stars in the sky. They will have attributes of perfection, as they will not urinate, defecate, spit, or blow their noses. Their combs will be made of gold, their sweat will smell like musk, and their incense burners will emit the finest fragrances. Their spouses will be the houris, and they will be created with a unified appearance, resembling their father Adam in form and height—sixty cubits tall in stature.
- Highlighting the description of the people of Paradise and how they vary therein according to their ranks and deeds.
- Drawing comparisons to bring the meanings close and make them clear.
- Al-Qurtubi said: It may be asked, what need do they have for combs when they are perpetually youthful and their hair never gets dirty? And what need do they have for incense when their smell is finer than musk? He said: The response is that the pleasures of the people of Paradise—such as eating, drinking, clothing, and fragrances—are not driven by the pain of hunger, thirst, nakedness, or foul odors. Rather, these are successive pleasures and continuous blessings. The wisdom behind it is that they will enjoy things similar to what they used to enjoy in this world.
