The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) had a gold ring made for himself

‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) had a gold ring made for himself, and whenever he wore it, he used to keep the stone toward the palm of his hand. Consequently, the people made the same thing. Afterward, he sat on the pulpit and took it off, saying: "I used to wear this ring and keep its stone toward the palm of my hand." He then threw it away and said: "By Allah! I will never wear it." Thereupon, all the people threw away their rings. In another narration: "He wore it in his right hand.”
Narrated by Bukhari & MuslimGradeAuthentic hadith
Explanation

The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) had a gold ring made for him, and whenever he wore it, he would keep its stone toward the palm of his hand. The Companions followed suit. Then, after a while, the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) sat on the pulpit so that the people could see him. Then, he said: "I used to wear this ring and keep its stone toward the palm of my hand." He threw it away and said: "By Allah! I will never wear it." This happened in the wake of the prohibition of gold for men. Upon seeing that, the Companions threw away their rings, following the Prophet’s example.

Do not wear silk or brocade, and do not drink from gold or silver vessels, and do not eat in platters made therefrom, for they are for them in this world and for us in the Hereafter

‘Abdur-Rahmān ibn Abi Layla reported that they were in the company of Hudhayfah, who asked for water, and a Magian brought him water. On placing the cup in his hand, he threw it at him and said, Had I not forbidden him more than once or twice—as if he were saying, I would not have done this—however, I heard the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Do not wear silk or brocade, and do not drink from gold or silver vessels, and do not eat in platters made therefrom, for they are for them in this world and for us in the Hereafter."
Agreed uponGradeAuthentic
Explanation

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade men from wearing all kinds of silk. He forbade men and women from eating or drinking in vessels and containers made of gold and silver. He stated that they would be exclusive for the believers on the Day of Judgment because they avoided using them in this world out of obedience to Allah. As for the disbelievers, they will not enjoy it in the Hereafter because they hastened to enjoy their share of pleasures in this world and disobeyed Allah's command.

Benefits
  1. Prohibition of wearing silk and brocade for males and a strict warning for whoever wears them.
  2. Women are permitted to wear silk and brocade.
  3. Both males and females are forbidden from eating and drinking in vessels and platters made of gold and silver.
  4. Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) was strict in his rebuke, justifying this by the fact that he had forbidden him more than once from using gold and silver vessels; however, he did not stop using them.

Whoever wears silk in the life of this world will not wear it in the Hereafter

‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever wears silk in the life of this world will not wear it in the Hereafter."
Agreed uponGradeAuthentic
Explanation

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) pointed out that whoever among men wears silk in this world will not wear it in the Hereafter as a punishment for him unless he repents from it.

Benefits
  1. Silk here refers to natural pure silk. As for artificial silk, it does not fall under the Hadīth.
  2. Men are prohibited from wearing silk.
  3. The prohibition of wearing silk includes using it as clothes and bedding or covering.
  4. Men are allowed to have some silk in their clothes as wide as two or four fingers, to be used as a design or trimming for the garment.

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade wearing silk except for the width of two, three, or four fingers.

‘Umar ibn Al-Khattāb (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade wearing silk except for this much, and he raised his index and middle fingers to us. A narration by Muslim reads: "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade wearing silk except for the width of two, three, or four fingers.”
Narrated by Bukhari & MuslimGradeAuthentic hadith
Explanation

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade wearing silk for males, except for the amount he specified. According to the Hadīth agreed upon by Al-Bukhāri and Muslim, this amount is the width of two fingers. In the Hadīth of Muslim, it is the width of two, three, or four fingers. So, the biggest width (four fingers) is to be accepted. Thus, there is nothing wrong in wearing silk with the width of four fingers.

When you put on clothes and when you perform ablution, you should begin with your right side

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you put on clothes and when you perform ablution, you should begin with your right side."
Narrated by Ibn Majah - Narrated by At-Termedhy - Narrated by Abu Daoud - Narrated by AhmadGradeAuthentic hadith
Explanation

This Hadīth affirms the desirability of beginning with the right side in all good things. So, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) exhorts us to start from the right side when we wear our clothes or when we perform ablution. An exception are some organs included in the ablution, namely the two ears, the two palms, and the two cheeks. Each of those pairs is to be washed at the same time, if possible; otherwise, we should begind with the right one.

The Muslim's lower garment should be halfway down the leg. There is no harm - or there is no blame - between that and the ankles. However, what is below the ankles is in the Fire. Whoever trails his lower garment out of vanity, Allah will not look at him

Abu Sa‘īd al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Muslim's lower garment should be halfway down the leg. There is no harm - or there is no blame - between that and the ankles. However, what is below the ankles is in the Fire. Whoever trails his lower garment out of vanity, Allah will not look at him."
Narrated by Abu Dāwūd, Ibn Mājah, and AhmadGradeAuthentic
Explanation

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) clarified that a Muslim man's Izār (whatever covers the lower half of a man's body) has three states: First: The recommended state is to reach halfway down the shin. Second: The permissible state without being disliked is to extend below that, down to the ankles, which are the two prominent bones at the joint of the shin and foot. Third: The prohibited state is to extend below the ankles, and there is a fear that one may be punished by the Fire. If worn out of arrogance, gloating, and transgression, then Allah will not look at him.

Benefits
  1. This description and warning apply specifically to men. Women; however, are excluded from this because they are commanded to cover their entire bodies.
  2. Anything that covers the lower half of a man’s body is called "Izār", such as trousers, garments, and similar clothing, and it falls under the legal rulings mentioned in this Hadīth.
