Aal-i-Imraan
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. قُلْ يَـٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ شَهِيدٌ عَلَىٰ مَا تَعْمَلُونَ 98 قُلْ يَـٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لِمَ تَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ تَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَأَنتُمْ شُهَدَآءُ ۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَـٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ 99
{98-99} Alipozisimamisha hoja katika yaliyotangulia juu ya Watu wa Kitabu, pamoja na kwamba kabla ya hapo walikuwa wanamjua Nabii – rehema na amani za Mwenyezi Mungu ziwe juu yake – kama wanavyowajua watoto wao. Aliwakemea wakaidi miongoni mwao kwa kukufuru kwao Ishara za Mwenyezi Mungu, na kuwazuilia kwao viumbe Njia ya Mwenyezi Mungu; kwa sababu watu wao wa kawaida wanawafuata wanachuoni wao. Na Mwenyezi Mungu Mtukufu anazijua hali zao, na atawalipa kwa hayo, malipo kamili na timilifu zaidi.
