This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. فَإِنَّكَ لَا تُسْمِعُ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ وَلَا تُسْمِعُ ٱلصُّمَّ ٱلدُّعَآءَ إِذَا وَلَّوْا۟ مُدْبِرِينَ 52
(52) ﴾ فَإِنَّكَ لَا تُسۡمِعُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ وَلَا تُسۡمِعُ ٱلصُّمَّ ٱلدُّعَآءَ ﴿ "Maka sesungguhnya kamu tidak akan sanggup menjadikan orang-orang yang mati itu mendengar, dan menjadikan orang-orang yang tuli dapat mendengar seruan," ter-utama, ﴾ إِذَا وَلَّوۡاْ مُدۡبِرِينَ ﴿ "apabila mereka itu berpaling membelakang." Sebab sesungguhnya penghalang-penghalang untuk tunduk dan men-dengar dengan baik sudah sangat banyak pada mereka, seperti lengkapnya penghalang-penghalang yang tersebut di atas dari mendengar suara yang indrawi.
