An-Naml
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. The site does not say who translated it or which printed edition it follows, and states no terms for taking its text, so the right to show it is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there; a verse the site gives no commentary of its own stands with the passage before it, and the index names each such verse. Sabīl did not write or translate any of it.

قَالُوا۟ تَقَاسَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ لَنُبَيِّتَنَّهُۥ وَأَهْلَهُۥ ثُمَّ لَنَقُولَنَّ لِوَلِيِّهِۦ مَا شَهِدْنَا مَهْلِكَ أَهْلِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَصَـٰدِقُونَ 49
(49) Mereka terus dalam kondisi keji tersebut, sehingga karena permusuhan itu ﴾ تَقَاسَمُواْ ﴿ "mereka saling bersumpah" di antara mereka; setiap orang bersumpah kepada yang lain, ﴾ لَنُبَيِّتَنَّهُۥ وَأَهۡلَهُۥ ﴿ "Kita sungguh-sungguh akan menyerangnya dengan tiba-tiba beserta keluarganya di malam hari." Maksudnya, sungguh kami akan men-datangi mereka, Shaleh dan keluarganya di malam hari, lalu kami akan membunuh mereka, ﴾ ثُمَّ لَنَقُولَنَّ لِوَلِيِّهِۦ ﴿ "kemudian kami katakan ke-pada ahli warisnya," apabila dia menuntut kami dan menuduh kami bahwa kamilah yang telah membunuh mereka. Kita mengingkari hal itu, menafikannya dan kita bersumpah bahwa, ﴾ وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ ﴿ "sesungguhnya kami benar-benar jujur."
