Language

The interface language. English and Bengali read the library’s own two editions. Every other language reads a draft translation of the International edition, made by machine and not yet reviewed, with the English one tap away; such a language is marked “library in draft”. A language marked “interface only” reads the library in English.

Place

Your location is read on the phone to work out prayer times. It is never sent to us or to anyone else.

Prayer times

Regional defaults are provisional until the Shariah board confirms them. Choose your own at any time.

Hijri date

The date is calculated (Umm al-Qurā). To follow a local moon sighting, shift it by a day or two.

Text size

Makes what you read larger: the library, the Qur’ān and the ḥadīth. Menus and buttons keep their size.

Typefaces

A typeface changes how the letters are drawn, never the text.

Offline use

Pages are kept on the phone as you open them. Download the whole library, or the whole Qur’ān with the meaning you have chosen, to read with no connection.

Account

Optional. Keeps your record on your other devices too.

Your data

Everything Sabīl remembers is stored on this phone. Without an account nothing leaves it. If you sign in, a copy of your record is also kept in your account, so that your other devices can have it.
