4

O Allah, exalt our Master Muḥammad, the Prophet of noble origin, the highbred master, who came with inspiration and Revelation, who interpreted with clear exposition; to whom the Trusty One, our Master Jibrīl, peace be upon him, came with honour and dignity; whom the King, the Glorious One, caused to journey on the long dark Night, revealed to him the highest part of the Angelic Realm (Malakūt), and showed him the glory of the Dominical Realm (Jabarūt); and who looked upon the Omnipotent Power of the Ever-Living, the Everlasting, the Eternal One Who never dies. May Allah exalt our Master Muḥammad, with an exaltation permeated with beauty, goodness, perfection, with good and with graciousness.

Fa asʾalukaLlāhumma an tamḥū min qalbī kulli shayʾin takrahuhu, wa an taḥshuwa qalbi min khashyatika, wa maʿrifatika wa rahbatika, war raghbata fīmā ʿindaka, wal amna wal ʿāfiyata, waʿṭif ʿalaynā bir raḥmati wal barakati minka, wa alhimnaṣ ṣawāba wal ḥikmata, fanasʾalukAllāhumma ʿilmal khāʾifīna, wa inābatal mukhbitīna, wa ikhlaṣ almūqinīna, wa shukraṣ ṣābirīna, wa tawbataṣ ṣiddīqīn.
Then I ask You, O Allah, to erase from my heart everything that You dislike; to fill my heart with awe of You, experiential knowledge of You, dread of You, longing for what is Yours [to give], security, and well-being; to incline towards us with mercy and blessings from You; and to inspire in us that which is correct and is wise. And we ask You, O Allah, for the knowledge of the fearful, the contrition of the humble, the sincerity of the certain, the gratitude of the patient, and the penitence of the Ṣiddīqūn.

Wa nasʾalukAllāhumma binūri wajhikalladhī malaʾa arkāna ʿarshika, an tazraʿa fī qalbī maʿrifataka ḥattā aʿrifaka ḥaqqa maʿrifataka, kamā yanbaghi an tuʿrafa bihi, wa ṣallAllāhu ʿalā sayyidinā Muḥammadin khātamin nabiyyīna, wa imāmil mursalīna, wa ʿalā ālihi wa ṣaḥbihi wa sallama taslīman, walḥamdu liLlahi rabbil ʿālamīn.
And we ask You, O Allah, by the light of Your Face which fills the pillars of Your Throne, to make direct knowledge of You grow in my heart, so that I may know You as You deserve to be known, as it is befitting that You should be known. May Allah exalt and salute with abundant salutations our Master Muḥammad, the Seal of the Prophets and Leader of the Emissaries, his Family, and his Companions. And all praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.
