Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should wish for death. Either he is a doer of good, so he may do more good; or he is an evildoer, so he may give up evil deeds."
In a narration, Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should wish for death, nor ask for it before it comes to him; for when any of you dies, his deeds stop, and the believer's life span only adds good to him."
Narrated by Bukhari & MuslimGradeAuthentic hadith
Explanation
In the Prophet's statement "None of you should wish for death", the prohibition here indicates unlawfulness, because in wishing for death there is a kind of displeasure with the decree of Allah, and the believer must be patient when a calamity befalls him. When he is patient during hardships, he will achieve two important things: 1. Expiation of sins- because no worry, grief or annoyance befalls a person except that Allah expiates his sins for it - even the prick of a thorn expiates his sins; 2. If he succeeds in anticipating reward from Allah, and is patient for the sake of Allah, then he will be rewarded. Regarding his wish for death, this is an indication of lack of patience and content with what Allah, Exalted and Glorified, has decreed. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) explained that if he is of the doers of good, he will increase in good deeds while still alive, since the believer may still increase in good deeds as long as he is living, even if he is afflicted with a calamity. On the other hand, if he is an evildoer who committed sins, he may give up his evil ways, i.e. seek the pleasure and pardon of Allah, so then he will die after having repented of his sins. So do not wish for death, because the matter in its entirety is decreed. So one should be patient and anticipate reward from Allah, because nothing lasts forever. In the Hadīth, there is also an indication that the meaning behind the prohibition of wishing for death is that death is the end of deeds. Life is the time of performing deeds, and deeds achieve an increase in reward, and even if there was nothing except continuous monotheism, then indeed it is the most virtuous of deeds. This is not refuted by claiming that apostasy is possible after having faith, because that is rare, and after the heart mixes with the purity of true faith, no one can reject it – taking into consideration that this may happen, but it is rare. Whoever is predestined to have a bad end, it must happen, whether his lifespan is long or short. So it does a person no good in hastening it by wishing for death. In the Hadīth there is also a sign of glad tidings for the doer of good because of His benevolence; and a warning to the evildoer for his evil deeds. It is as if it is saying: "Whoever is a doer of good should avoid wishing for death in order to continue to do good and increase in it; and whoever is an evildoer should avoid wishing for death in order to desist from his evil deeds and not die upon it, putting himself in danger."

Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and another man praised him. So the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Woe unto you! You have cut the neck of your companion,” repeating it several times. Then he said: “If one of you has to praise (another), let him say: ‘I reckon him to be as such and such' if he sees him to be like that, and Allah is the One Who will take account of him. No one can testify the purity of others against Allah."

Explanation
The Hadīth carries some instructions from the blessed Sunnah. The Muslim should avoid exaggeration when praising others, as pride and conceit are one of the Satan's gateways. Praising and commending people excessively may make the praised one overwhelmed with delusion and arrogance and he becomes ruined. Therefore, a Muslim should be moderate when praising and lauding others, and leave the realities of people to Allah, the Exalted, Who is fully aware of secrets of the souls.

This ḥadīth at HadeethEnc.com
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most despicable name in the sight of Allah is that of a man named the King of kings. There is no king but Allah."
In another version: "The most wretched and most malicious person in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection and the one who will incur His wrath most will be the person who used to be called the King of kings, for there is no king but Allah." Sufyān said: “Like Shahenshah (meaning: the King of kings).”
Narrated by Muslim - Narrated by Bukhari & MuslimGradeAuthentic hadith
Explanation
The Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informs us in this Hadīth that the most despicable and meanest of people in the sight of Allah, the Almighty, is someone who has a name that projects meanings of glorification and pride that befit none but Allah, the Exalted, such as the King of kings. This signifies rivalry with Allah. A person called by such a name claims to be or is claimed to be a rival to Allah, the Almighty. Therefore, he is regarded as the most despicable and most malicious person in the sight of Allah or it is probably meant that he is one of the most hated of people. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) makes it clear that there is no true King for this universe, including all its rulers and ruled, but the Almighty Allah. It is hoped this Hadīth will be a reminder to those who call people by certain names or titles without considering their meanings and implications, lest they would be subject to the evil consequence this Hadīth warns against. May Allah help all of us!

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever swears by Al-Lāt and Al-‘Uzza should say: 'There is no god but Allah'. And whoever says to his companion 'Come and gamble with me' should give charity."
Agreed uponGradeAuthentic
Explanation
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) warned of swearing by other than Allah, for a believer should only swear by Allah. He informs that whoever swears by other than Allah, like someone who says: By Al-Lāt and Al-‘Uzza - two idols that used to be worshipped during the Jāhiliyyah (pre-Islam period of ignorance) - should hasten to correct himself by saying: There is no god but Allah. This is to disavow Shirk and expiate for such swearing.
Then, he (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informed that if someone says to his companion "Come and gamble with me" - when two or more persons compete with one another and the winner takes the money involved, and each one should necessarily win or lose - he is recommended to give something in charity, as expiation for what he has called for.
Benefits
- We should only swear by Allah and His names and attributes.
- Swearing by other than Allah Almighty is prohibited, be it swearing by idols like Al-Lāt and Al-‘Uzza, swearing by trust, swearing by the Prophet, or the like.
- Al-Khattābi said: People swear by the revered deity, and he who swears by Al-Lāt or the like has imitated the disbelievers. So, he is enjoined to make up for it with the word of Tawhīd (monotheism).
- Whoever swears by other than Allah is not required to make an oath expiation. Rather, he should repent and seek forgiveness, for it is too great to be expiated by anything other than repentance.
- Gambling, with all its forms and types, is prohibited. Allah Almighty prohibited and mentioned it along with wine and idols.
- A person who commits a sin is obligated to abandon it.
- Whoever falls into a sin should follow it with a good deed, for good deeds blot out evil ones.

Explanation
Frequent cursing contradicts the perfection of truthfulness, which is a rank next to the rank of prophet-hood. It is one of the highest ranks that the believer may attain with Allah, the Exalted. Among the means to attain the rank of truthfulness is to avoid cursing.

Explanation
‘Imrān ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a woman from the Ansār was riding her she-camel. She became displeased with it and started to curse it. Hearing her curse of the she-camel, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that it should be unloaded of her luggage and set free, for it was cursed. ‘Imrān (may Allah be pleased with him) added: I saw that she-camel walking amongst the people and no one showing any concern for it. This is because the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that it should be released.

Explanation
If a man says: "People are ruined" with the intention of degrading and belittling them and considering himself in a higher rank and better position than them, he shall be the most ruined among them. The wording of another narration reads: "...he man will ruin people." In this case, it means this man is a reason for their being ruined, because he causes them to despair and lose hope in the mercy of Allah. By doing so, he prevents them from returning to Allah in repentance and pushes them in the way of despair until they become ruined.

An-Nasaa’i - Narrated by Abu Daoud - Narrated by AhmadGradeAuthentic hadith
Explanation
Meaning of the Hadīth: If a hypocrite is a master among his people and you call him as such, you will incur the wrath of Allah, as you revere that hypocrite who does not deserve such treatment; and if he is not a master or leader, you will be lying and flattering. So, in both cases, he forbids us from addressing a hypocrite as master, with the same applying to a disbeliever, a defiantly disobedient Muslim, or a heretic, for they do not deserve this title at all. The prohibition was addressed to the Companions and those who came after them. Hypocrites at the time were of two types: First: Hypocrites known only to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and his confidant Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him). Second: Hypocrites known among the Companions for their hypocrisy, such as ‘Abdullāh ibn Ubayy. Those fall under the ruling stated in the Hadīth.
