Al-Anfaal 8:58

الأنفال

وَإِمَّا تَخَافَنَّ مِن قَوْمٍ خِيَانَةً فَٱنۢبِذْ إِلَيْهِمْ عَلَىٰ سَوَآءٍ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْخَآئِنِينَ

Meaning

If you fear betrayal from any people, throw their treaty back at them openly[34], for Allah does not like the treacherous.

[34] i.e., announce to them its dissolution so that you both be on the same footing.

Meaning

If you [have reason to] fear from a people betrayal, throw [their treaty] back to them, [putting you] on equal terms.[455] Indeed, Allāh does not like traitors.

[455] When you see signs of treachery from those with whom you have made a treaty, announce to them its dissolution so they will know exactly where they stand.

58. If you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) fear treachery from any people throw back (their covenant) to them (so as to be) on equal terms (that there will be no more covenant between you and them). Certainly Allâh likes not the treacherous.
