Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who looks after a widow or a needy person is like one who performs Jihad in the cause of Allah, or one who regularly observes voluntary prayer at night and fasting during the day."
Agreed uponGradeAuthentic
Explanation
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informs us that the one who tends to the needs of a woman whose husband has died and has none to look after her or the needy person, and provides for them seeking the reward from Allah Almighty will have the same reward as the one who fights in the cause of Allah, or the one who performs the voluntary night prayer and never gets tired, and the one who always fasts incessantly.
Benefits
- Promoting cooperation, solidarity, and the act of fulfilling the needs of the weak.
- Worship includes every good deed and looking after the widows and the needy is an act of worship.
- Ibn Hubayrah said: "This means that Allah Almighty combines for him the rewards of the one who fasts on a regular basis, the one who observes voluntary night prayer on a regular basis, and the one who engages in Jihad altogether. This is because he took care of the widow in place of her husband and took care of the needy person who was unable to take care of himself, thus, spending the surplus of his provision and giving his forbearance in charity, which makes his benefit equal to that of fasting, praying at night and engages in Jihad."

Thawbān (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best dinar a man spends is a dinar that he spends on his dependents, and a dinar that a man spends on his mount in the cause of Allah, and a dinar that he spends on his companions in the cause of Allah." Abu Qilābah said: He began with the dependents. Then Abu Qilābah said: No man is greater in reward than a man who spends on young dependents, by virtue of whom Allah makes them chaste, or brings them benefit and enriches them.
Narrated by MuslimGradeAuthentic
Explanation
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) clarified some forms of spending and put them in order according to the most obligatory ones in case numerous channels of spending crowd together, starting with the most important and then the next in importance. He stated that the money that brings one the highest reward for spending is the money that a Muslim spends on his dependents, like his wife and children, followed by spending on the mount that is prepared for war in the cause of Allah, then spending on one's friends and companions if they are fighters in the cause of Allah.
Benefits
- Arranging the channels of spending in order according to their merit in the way mentioned, and this order should be observed in case of numerous options.
- Demonstrating that providing for one's dependents takes priority in terms of merit over other forms of spending.
- Spending on Jihad in the cause of Allah, like preparing equipment and men for Jihad, is from the greatest channels of spending.
- It was said: "In the cause of Allah" refers to every act of obedience, like Hajj, for instance.

When he washes his feet, every sin his feet walked towards comes out with the water or with the last drop of water—until he comes out cleansed of sins."
Narrated by MuslimGradeAuthentic
Explanation
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) clarified that when a Muslim or a believer performs ablution and washes his face during the ablution, every minor sin he looked at with his eyes comes out of his face with the water falling after washing or with the last drop of water. When he washes his hands, every minor sin he committed with his hands comes out of his hands with the water or with the last drop of water. When he washes his feet, every minor sin his feet walked towards comes out with the water or with the last drop of water, until he comes out cleansed of minor sins by the end of ablution.
Benefits
- The merit of observing ablution and how it expiates sins.
- It was the Prophet's practice to encourage people toward acts of obedience and worship by mentioning the recompense and reward associated with them.
- Every part of a person's body is involved in certain sins; thus, each sin is attributed to the specific organ that committed it, and is washed away from each organ he has repented from.
- Ablution involves physical purification by washing the body parts included in ablution, as well as spiritual purification of the sins committed by those body parts.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will not enter Paradise until you believe and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I guide you to something which, if you do, you will love one another? Spread the greeting of peace among yourselves."
Narrated by MuslimGradeAuthentic
Explanation
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) clarified that none will enter Paradise except the believers, and faith will not be perfect and the Muslim society will not be in good condition unless they love one another. Then, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) guided us to the best means of spreading love, namely spreading the greeting of peace among Muslims, as Allah has made peace a greeting for His slaves.
Benefits
- Entering Paradise is contingent on faith.
- Perfect faith entails that a Muslim loves for his brother what he loves for himself.
- It is recommended to spread the greeting of peace and extend it among Muslims, as this results in spreading love and security between people.
- The greeting of peace is to be extended only to Muslims, as the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Among yourselves".
- Extending the greeting of peace eliminates division, abandonment, and rancor.
- The importance of love between Muslims, which is a part of perfect faith.
- Another Hadīth mentions that the complete form of the greeting of peace is: "As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullāhi wa barakātuh" (may the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you); however, it is sufficient to say: "As-salāmu ‘alaykum" (peace be upon you).

Explanation
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) encourages us to kill geckos. He informs us that anyone kills it with the first blow will have one hundred good deeds written for him; and anyone kills it with the second blow will have less than that (written for him); and whoever kills it with the third blow will have less than that (written for him). The wisdom behind killing geckos is that it was blowing into the fire in which Ibrahīm (peace be upon him) was thrown, and it is harmful and poisonous.

So, kindly allocate a day to us to come to you so you would teach us from what Allah has taught you." He said: "Assemble on such-and-such day." They assembled and the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) came to them and taught them from what Allah had taught him and he then said: "No woman among you loses three of her children to death except that they will screen her from Hellfire." A woman said: "What about two?" Thereupon, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And two."
Narrated by Bukhari & MuslimGradeAuthentic hadith
Explanation
A woman said to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him): Men have taken up all of your time, leaving us no time to ask you about our religious affairs, as they accompany you all day long. So, make a special day for us as women, wherein we can meet with you and you teach us our religion. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) thus, made a special day for them to gather, and the women gathered on that day. Then he came to them and taught them the knowledge they were in need of from what Allah had taught him. After that he gave them the glad tidings that any woman who has three children – male or female – that pass away, preceding her to the Hereafter, and she is patient and anticipates the reward from Allah, her calamity concerning them will be a protection for her from Hellfire, even if she deserves it due to her sins. A woman then said: Even if only two died, will she still have the reward of the one whose three children died? The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, even if only two of her children died, her reward will be the same.

Khuraym ibn Fātik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Actions are of six types and people are of four: two imperatives, one and its equal reward, one good deed with ten times as much reward, and one good deed with a seven-hundred-fold reward. As for the two imperatives, whoever dies while not associating anything with Allah will enter Paradise, and whoever dies while associating anything with Allah will enter Hellfire. As for one and its equal, if a person intends to do a good deed until it is felt in his heart and known to Allah, it will be recorded for him as a good deed; and if a person does a bad deed, it is recorded against him as a bad deed; whoever performs a good deed will have ten times as much in reward; and whoever spends in the way of Allah will have a good deed multiplied seven hundred times. As for people, some are in opulence in worldly life while in straits in the Hereafter; some are in straits in worldly life while in opulence in the Hereafter; some are in straits in worldly life and the Hereafter; and some are in opulence in worldly life and the Hereafter."
Narrated by AhmadGradeHasan
Explanation
The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) reports that there are six types of deeds and four types of people. The six types of deeds are:
First: Whoever dies while not associating anything with Allah, Paradise is guaranteed for him.
Second: Whoever dies while associating anything with Allah Hellfire is guaranteed for him, forever.
These are the two imperatives.
Third: The intended good deed-If a person sincerely intends to do a good deed until he feels it in his heart and it becomes known to Allah, and then something occurs and he cannot do this good deed, it will be recorded for him as a full good deed.
Fourth: The committed sin-Whoever commits a sin, it is recorded against him as one sin.
These two are the one and its equal reward, without multiplication.
Fifth: A good deed multiplied ten times in reward-Whoever intends to do a good deed and performs it, it will be recorded for him as ten honorable deeds.
Sixth: A good deed multiplied seven hundred times-This is the good deed of spending in the way of Allah, which is recorded for its performer as seven hundred virtuous deeds. This is due to Allah's grace and bounty towards His servants.
As for the four types of people, they are:
First: One who has abundant sustenance in this world and finds bliss and whatever he wants in it, yet he will be in straits in the Hereafter and his destination will be Hellfire. That is the wealthy disbeliever.
Second: One who has little sustenance in this world, yet he will be opulent in the Hereafter and his destination will be Paradise. That is the poor believer.
Third: One who is in straits in this world and in the Hereafter. That is the poor disbeliever.
Fourth: One who enjoys opulence in this world and in the Hereafter. That is the wealthy believer.
Benefits
- The Hadīth points out Allah's great bounty towards His servants and His multiplication of rewards for their honorable deeds.
- It shows Allah's justice and generosity. In sins, He treats us with justice, recording one sin as one sin.
- It demonstrates the graveness of associating partners with Allah, a reason for deprivation from Paradise.
- It highlights the merit of spending in the way of Allah.
- The multiplication of rewards for spending in the way of Allah begins with seven-hundredfold, because it helps in elevating the word of Allah.
- It demonstrates the different types of people.
- Believers and non-believers may find opulence in this world, but in the Hereafter, opulence will only be for the believers.
