At-Tawba
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ عَـٰهَدتُّم مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَنقُصُوكُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَمْ يُظَـٰهِرُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ أَحَدًا فَأَتِمُّوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ عَهْدَهُمْ إِلَىٰ مُدَّتِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ 4
{4} Yaani, kujiweka mbali huku kamili na kusikokuwa na kipimo dhidi ya washirikina wote, "Isipokuwa wale mlioahidiana nao katika washirikina" na wakaendelea na agano lao, na hakuna kitu kilichofanyika kutoka kwao kinachohitaji kulivunja. Hawakuwapunguza kitu wala hawakumsaidia yeyote dhidi yenu, basi hawa watimizieni agano lao mpaka muda wao, sawa ni mchache au mwingi. Kwa sababu Uislamu hauamrishi hiana, bali unaamuru kutimiza. "Hakika, Mwenyezi Mungu huwapenda wachamungu," ambao wanafanya yale waliyoamrishwa, na wakajiepusha na shirki, na hiana, na mengineyo miongoni mwa madhambi.
