Al-Munaafiqoon
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا۟ يَسْتَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ لَوَّوْا۟ رُءُوسَهُمْ وَرَأَيْتَهُمْ يَصُدُّونَ وَهُم مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَ 5
{5} " Na wanapoambiwa" wanafiki hawa: "Njooni ili Mtume wa Mwenyezi Mungu akuombeeni maghfira" kwa yale mliyoyafanya; Ili kuboresha hali zenu na yakubaliwe matendo yenu, wanalikataa hilo kabisa, na "huvigeuza vichwa vyao" kwa njia ya kukataa kuomba dua kutoka kwa Mtume, "na unawaona wanageuka" mbali na haki kwa sababu ya kuichukia, "nao wamejaa kiburi" wakikata kuifuata kwa uasi na ukaidi. Hii ndiyo hali yao wanapoitwa wamuombe Mtume kuwaombea dua.
