Al-Mumtahana
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. The site does not say who translated it or which printed edition it follows, and states no terms for taking its text, so the right to show it is not verified. إِن يَثْقَفُوكُمْ يَكُونُوا۟ لَكُمْ أَعْدَآءً وَيَبْسُطُوٓا۟ إِلَيْكُمْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ وَأَلْسِنَتَهُم بِٱلسُّوٓءِ وَوَدُّوا۟ لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ 2
{2} Kisha Mwenyezi Mungu Mtukufu akabainisha ukubwa wa uadui wao ili hilo liwachochee Waumini nao pia wawafanyie uadui: “Wakikuwezeni” wanapopata fursa ya kuwadhuru “wanakuwa maadui zenu” wa dhahiri, “na wanakukunjulieni mikono yao” kwa kuwaua, kumpiga na mfano wa hayo, “na ndimi zao kwa uovu” wenye kuwafanya msikie vibaya kama vile matusi na mambo mengine, “na wanapenda muwe makafiri” kwani hili ndilo lengo lao la mwisho wanalolitaka kwenu.
