An-Nisaa
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. وَلَا تَنكِحُوا۟ مَا نَكَحَ ءَابَآؤُكُم مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ سَلَفَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَـٰحِشَةً وَمَقْتًا وَسَآءَ سَبِيلًا 22
{22} Yani, msiwaoe katika wanawake wale ambao baba zenu waliwaoa. Naye ni baba (na babu) hata kama atapanda juu namna gani. "Hakika, huo ni uchafu," yani, kitu kibaya ambacho uchafu wake ni mkubwa. "Na uchukizo" kutoka kwa Mwenyezi Mungu kwenu, na kutoka kwa viumbe. Bali kwa sababu ya hilo mtoto atamchukia baba yake, na baba atamchukia mwanawe wa kiume pamoja na kwamba aliamrishwa (mwana) amfanyie wema. "Na njia mbaya," yani, njia mbaya mno kwa anayeifuata. Kwa sababu, hii ni miongoni mwa desturi za Jahiliyyah ambazo Uislamu ulikuja kujitakasa kutokana nazo, na kujitenga nazo.
