This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. The site does not say who translated it or which printed edition it follows, and states no terms for taking its text, so the right to show it is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there; a verse the site gives no commentary of its own stands with the passage before it, and the index names each such verse. هُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَكُمْ خَلَـٰٓئِفَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ فَمَن كَفَرَ فَعَلَيْهِ كُفْرُهُۥ ۖ وَلَا يَزِيدُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ كُفْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا مَقْتًا ۖ وَلَا يَزِيدُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ كُفْرُهُمْ إِلَّا خَسَارًا 39
{39} Mwenyezi Mungu Mtukufu anajulisha juu ya ukamilifu wa hekima na rehema zake kwa waja wake kwamba kwa amri yake iliyotangulia, amewajaalia baadhi yao kuwarithi wengineo duniani, na kuwatumia kila umma waonyaji, ili aone jinsi watakavyofanya. "Na anayekufuru" Mwenyezi Mungu na yale waliyoyaleta Mitume wake, basi kufuru yake, dhambi yake na adhabu yake ni juu yake. Na hakuna wa kumbebea hayo, na wala kafiri haongezi kwa ukafiri wake isipokuwa kuchukiwa na Mola wake Mlezi na kumkasirikia. Na ni adhabu gani kubwa zaidi kuliko kuchukiwa na Mola Mlezi, Mkarimu? "Wala kufuru za makafiri haziwazidishii ila hasara" juu ya nafsi zao wenyewe, familia zao, matendo yao na nyumba zao peponi. Kwani kafiri haachi kuwa katika mashaka, hasara, hizaya na kunyimwa mbele ya Mwenyezi Mungu na mbele ya viumbe vyake.
