Al-Anbiyaa
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. The site does not say who translated it or which printed edition it follows, and states no terms for taking its text, so the right to show it is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there; a verse the site gives no commentary of its own stands with the passage before it, and the index names each such verse. قَالُوٓا۟ أَجِئْتَنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ أَمْ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱللَّـٰعِبِينَ 55
{55} "Wakasema," kwa kushangaza kwa kusema kauli yake, na kutaka kujua kwa kile alichosema, na jinsi alivyowaanza kwa kuwakejeli wao na wazazi wao. "Je, umetujia kwa maneno ya kweli au wewe ni katika wachezao tu?" Yaani, maneno haya ambayo mliyasema na ambayo mlituletea. Je, uwepo wake ni kweli, au maneno yako kwetu ni maneno ya mchezaji mdhihaki ambaye hajui anachosema? Hivi ndivyo walivyotaka, lakini walirudisha maneno kati ya mambo hayo mawili kwa sababu wao waliiweka katika hadhi ya yale yaliyoamuliwa na kujulikana kwa kila mtu, kwamba maneno aliyoyaleta Ibrahimu yalikuwa ni maneno ya kipumbavu ambayo hayana maana ya kile anachosema.
