Al-Baqara
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. The site does not say who translated it or which printed edition it follows, and states no terms for taking its text, so the right to show it is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there; a verse the site gives no commentary of its own stands with the passage before it, and the index names each such verse. وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمْ أَحْرَصَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ حَيَوٰةٍ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ ۚ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ يُعَمَّرُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحْزِحِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ أَن يُعَمَّرَ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ 96
(96) "Wala hawatayatamani kamwe kwa sababu ya yale mikono yao ilitanguliza" kama ukafiri na maasia. Kwa sababu wanajua kuwa ni njia yao ya kuwapelekea kuwalipa kwa matendo yao maovu. Basi kifo kikawa ndicho kitu kinawachochukiza zaidi, na wana pupa kubwa juu ya kuishi kuliko kila mtu katika watu, hata kuliko washirikina ambao hamwamini yeyote katika Mitume na Vitabu. Kisha akataja ukubwa wa mapenzi yao juu ya dunia, akasema:
