Al-Baqara
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. The site does not say who translated it or which printed edition it follows, and states no terms for taking its text, so the right to show it is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there; a verse the site gives no commentary of its own stands with the passage before it, and the index names each such verse. قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ لَّا ذَلُولٌ تُثِيرُ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَلَا تَسْقِى ٱلْحَرْثَ مُسَلَّمَةٌ لَّا شِيَةَ فِيهَا ۚ قَالُوا۟ ٱلْـَٔـٰنَ جِئْتَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ فَذَبَحُوهَا وَمَا كَادُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ 71
(71) "Akasema: Yeye anasema: Kuwa huyo ni ng'ombe asiyetiwa kazini" yani aliyedunishwa kwa kazi "kulima ardhi wala kumwagia maji mimea, yu salama," hana kasoro zozote au ni salama kutokana na kulima "hana baka." Yani hakuna rangi ndani yake zaidi ya rangi iliyoelezwa hapo juu "Wakasema: Sasa umeleta (jambo la) haki." Yani ubainisho wa wazi. Na hili ni kutokana na ujinga wao. Vinginevyo, bila shaka alikwishawajia na haki mara ya kwanza. Lau kuwa walimleta ng'ombe yeyote, basi kile kilichokusudiwa kingetokea. Lakini walijifanyia ugumu kwa maswali mengi. Basi Mwenyezi Mungu akawafanyia ugumu. Na lau kuwa hawawakusema, "In shaa Allah (Mwenyezi Mungu akipenda)", pia wasingeliongoka kwa hilo. "Basi wakamchinja" yani yule ng'ombe aliyeelezwa kwa sifa hizo. "Na walikaribia mno kuwa wasifanye hayo." Kwa sababu ya ukaidi uliotokea kutoka kwao.
