Al-Baqara
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. The site does not say who translated it or which printed edition it follows, and states no terms for taking its text, so the right to show it is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there; a verse the site gives no commentary of its own stands with the passage before it, and the index names each such verse. وَقَالُوا۟ كُونُوا۟ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَـٰرَىٰ تَهْتَدُوا۟ ۗ قُلْ بَلْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ حَنِيفًا ۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ 135
(135) Yani Mayahudi na Manasara kila mmoja wao aliwalingania Waislamu kuingia katika Dini yao wakidai kuwa wao ndio walioongoka, na asiyekuwa wao ni mpotevu. "Sema" umwambie ukimjibu jibu la kutosha: "Bali" tunashika "mila ya Ibrahim mwongofu," yani aliyeelekea kwa Mwenyezi Mungu, na kumpa mgongo asiyekuwa Yeye, akisimamisha Tauhid (kumpwekesha Mwenyezi Mungu), akiacha shirki na kumfanyia wenza. Basi huyu ndiye ambaye katika kumfuata kuna uwongofu, na katika kuipa mgongo dini yake ni ukafiri na kupotea.
