This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. يَـٰصَـٰحِبَىِ ٱلسِّجْنِ ءَأَرْبَابٌ مُّتَفَرِّقُونَ خَيْرٌ أَمِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْوَٰحِدُ ٱلْقَهَّارُ 39
{39} Kisha akawalingania kwa uwazi, akasema: "Enyi wafungwa wenzangu wawili! Je, mabwana wengi tofautitofauti ni bora au Mwenyezi Mungu Mmoja Mwenye nguvu?" Yaani, je, mabwana wasio na uwezo na walio dhaifu ambao hawanufaishi wala hawadhuru wala hawapeani wala hawanyimi, nao wametofautiana kama vile miti, mawe, Malaika, wafu na aina nyinginezo za miungu wanayoichukua washirikina? Je, hao ndio bora au Mwenyezi Mungu ambaye ana sifa za ukamilifu, mmoja kwa dhati yake, na sifa Zake, na matendo Yake? Na Yeye hana mshirika yoyote katika lolote miongoni mwa hayo, Mwenye nguvu, ambaye vitu vyote viko chini ya nguvu zake na mamlaka yake. Kwa hivyo, chochote anachotaka, kinakuwa. Na asichotaka, hakiwi. hakuna mnyama yeyote isipokuwa amekikamata kwa nywele za mbele ya kichwa chake.
