QUL does not say which printed edition it follows and states no licence for the texts, so the right to show them is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book or a manuscript, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there. Where the text carries a note of an editor’s, in double brackets, it is shown as it stands. There is no translation yet.

ٱلَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ ظَالِمِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ ۖ فَأَلْقَوُا۟ ٱلسَّلَمَ مَا كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ مِن سُوٓءٍۭ ۚ بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ 28
قوله عز وجل: الَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّاهُمُ الْمَلائِكَةُ أي: يقبض أرواحهم ملك الموت وأعوانه، ظالِمِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ أي: الذين ظلموا أنفسهم بالشرك بالله تعالى فَأَلْقَوُا السَّلَمَ أي: انقادوا واستسلموا حين رأوا العذاب. قالوا: مَا كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ مِنْ سُوءٍ أي: ما كنا نشرك. وقال الكلبي: هم قوم خرجوا مع المشركين يوم بدر، وقد تكلموا بالإيمان، فلما رأوا قلة المؤمنين رجعوا إلى الشرك فقتلوا. ويقال: جميع المشركين. قال الله تعالى: بَلى أشركتم بالله إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِما كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ من الشرك.
