Al-Waaqia
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ 45 وَكَانُوا۟ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلْحِنثِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ 46 وَكَانُوا۟ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ 47 أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ 48
(45-48) Мирская жизнь обольстила их и стала их единственной заботой: ради нее они трудились и ее благами наслаждались. Большие надежды на этот мир от- влекли их от праведных дел во благо Последней жизни. Именно в этой бес- печности Аллах и упрекнул неверующих. Они совершали тяжкие грехи, но не сожалели об этом и не раскаивались, а продолжали грешить и гневить своего Господа. В результате они предстали перед Ним с множеством гре- хов и не заслужили прощения. Они отрицали жизнь после смерти и считали невероятным воскрешение, а потому говорили: «Разве может человек вос- креснуть после того, как его тело истлеет и станет прахом и костями?! Это — просто невероятно».
