This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. قَالَ أَنَا۠ خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ ۖ خَلَقْتَنِى مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُۥ مِن طِينٍ 76
(76) Иблис решил, что он лучше человека, потому что огонь лучше глины, однако в обоих случаях он ошибался. Огонь порождает зло, порок, гордыню и легкомыс- лие, а земля порождает деревья, травы, кустарники, скромность. Именно зем- ля побеждает и тушит огонь, а не наоборот. Кроме того, огонь нуждается в дро- вах и растопке, а земля способна существовать самостоятельно. Все это доказы- вает, что возражения Иблиса были порочны и безосновательны, а ведь именно он является старейшиной всех неверующих. Нетрудно представить, какие бессмыс- ленные и глупые доводы приводят его ученики и последователи, когда пытают- ся опровергнуть истину. Вне всякого сомнения, их доводы еще более безоснова- тельны, чем доводы Иблиса.
