This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّاسَ بِمَا كَسَبُوا۟ مَا تَرَكَ عَلَىٰ ظَهْرِهَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ وَلَـٰكِن يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۖ فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِعِبَادِهِۦ بَصِيرًۢا 45
(45) Если бы Аллах стал наказывать творения за их злодеяния, то лютая кара постиг- ла бы даже животных, которые не несут ответственности за свои деяния. Однако Всевышний отсрочивает час расплаты за грехи, но не предает их забвению. Когда же предопределенный Аллахом час наступит, то люди убедятся в том, что Господь видел все совершенные ими злодеяния. Он знает обо всех добрых и злых деяниях Своих рабов и воздаст каждому из них только за то, что тот сотворил.
