Al-Qasas
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. وَلَمَّا وَرَدَ مَآءَ مَدْيَنَ وَجَدَ عَلَيْهِ أُمَّةً مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ يَسْقُونَ وَوَجَدَ مِن دُونِهِمُ ٱمْرَأَتَيْنِ تَذُودَانِ ۖ قَالَ مَا خَطْبُكُمَا ۖ قَالَتَا لَا نَسْقِى حَتَّىٰ يُصْدِرَ ٱلرِّعَآءُ ۖ وَأَبُونَا شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ 23
(23) Дойдя до колодца в Мадьяне, Муса увидел возле него людей, поивших скот. Жите- ли этого города владели большими стадами. Неподалеку от них стояли две женщи- ны, которые отогнали свое стадо в сторону. Они не могли поить свой скот в толпе грубых мужчин, не отличавшихся великодушием и не желавших помочь женщи- нам. Тогда Муса спросил: «У вас все в порядке? Почему вы стоите в стороне?» Жен- щины ответили: «Мы ждем, чтобы пастухи увели свой скот от колодца, а потом мы напоим наших овец. Мы всегда поступаем так. Отец наш очень стар и не может са- мостоятельно поить скотину. Мы тоже слабы, а мужчин в нашей семье нет».
