فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ 37 وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا 38 فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ 39
(37-39) ﴾ فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ ﴿ "Adapun orang yang melampaui batas," yaitu melanggar batas seraya berani menerjang maksiat-maksiat besar dan tidak mencukupkan diri pada batasan-batasan Allah سبحانه وتعالى, ﴾ وَءَاثَرَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا ﴿ "dan lebih mengutamakan kehidupan dunia," daripada akhirat; usahanya hanya tertuju pada dunia dan waktunya dihabiskan untuk bagian dan kepentingan dunia dengan melupakan akhirat dan berbuat untuknya, ﴾ فَإِنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ هِيَ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰ ﴿ "maka sesungguhnya neraka-lah tempat tinggal" baginya. Neraka menjadi tempat tinggal dan menetap bagi orang yang kondisinya seperti itu.
