Al-Ghaafir

قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَآ أَمَتَّنَا ٱثْنَتَيْنِ وَأَحْيَيْتَنَا ٱثْنَتَيْنِ فَٱعْتَرَفْنَا بِذُنُوبِنَا فَهَلْ إِلَىٰ خُرُوجٍ مِّن سَبِيلٍ 11
(11) Lalu mereka berangan-angan kembali ke dunia dan ﴾ قَالُواْ رَبَّنَآ أَمَتَّنَا ٱثۡنَتَيۡنِ ﴿ "mereka berkata, 'Ya Rabb kami, Engkau telah memati-kan kami dua kali," yang mereka maksud adalah kematian yang pertama dan kematian yang terjadi antara dua tiupan sangkakala menurut suatu pendapat, atau ketiadaan total sebelum mereka diciptakan lalu mereka dimatikan sesudah itu. ﴾ وَأَحۡيَيۡتَنَا ٱثۡنَتَيۡنِ ﴿ "Dan telah menghidupkan kami dua kali pula," kehidupan dunia dan kehi-dupan akhirat, ﴾ فَٱعۡتَرَفۡنَا بِذُنُوبِنَا فَهَلۡ إِلَىٰ خُرُوجٖ مِّن سَبِيلٖ ﴿ "lalu kami mengakui dosa-dosa kami; maka adakah suatu jalan untuk keluar?" Maksudnya, mereka mengeluh dan mengatakan perkataan tersebut, namun (hal itu) tidak berguna dan tidak bermanfaat.
