This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. The site does not say who translated it or which printed edition it follows, and states no terms for taking its text, so the right to show it is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there; a verse the site gives no commentary of its own stands with the passage before it, and the index names each such verse. قَالَ يَـٰٓإِبْلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَن تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَىَّ ۖ أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْعَالِينَ 75
(75) Maka Allah سبحانه وتعالى berkata kepadanya sebagai celaan,﴾ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَن تَسۡجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقۡتُ بِيَدَيَّۖ ﴿ "Apakah yang menghalangimu sujud kepada yang telah Ku-ciptakan dengan kedua TanganKu?" Maksudnya, yang Aku muliakan, Aku hargai dan Aku istimewakan dengan keistimewaan ini; yang dengannya ia menjadi istimewa daripada seluruh makhluk, dan hal itu seharusnya tidak menimbulkan sikap sombong terha-dapnya. ﴾ أَسۡتَكۡبَرۡتَ ﴿ "Apakah kamu menyombongkan diri" dalam keeng-gananmu itu, ﴾ أَمۡ كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلۡعَالِينَ ﴿ "ataukah kamu termasuk orang-orang yang lebih tinggi?"
