This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. The site does not say who translated it or which printed edition it follows, and states no terms for taking its text, so the right to show it is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book, and no scholar has reviewed it. Each passage stands beside the verses it comments on, which are the Qur’ān text of Tanzil, shown as it is there; a verse the site gives no commentary of its own stands with the passage before it, and the index names each such verse. وَٱلَّذِينَ سَعَوْ فِىٓ ءَايَـٰتِنَا مُعَـٰجِزِينَ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مِّن رِّجْزٍ أَلِيمٌ 5
(5) ﴾ وَٱلَّذِينَ سَعَوۡ فِيٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا مُعَٰجِزِينَ ﴿ "Dan orang-orang yang berusaha untuk menentang ayat-ayat Kami dengan anggapan mereka dapat mele-mahkan," maksudnya, mereka berupaya menentangnya karena kafir kepadanya dan untuk melemahkan orang yang datang membawa-nya dan melemahkan Tuhan yang menurunkannya, sebagaimana mereka telah berupaya melemahkanNya dalam penghidupan kem-bali orang-orang yang telah mati, ﴾ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ مِّن رِّجۡزٍ أَلِيمٞ ﴿ "mereka itu memperoleh azab, yaitu azab yang pedih," yakni sangat menyakitkan badan dan hati mereka.
