Ash-Shu'araa
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ 116
(116) Kemudian Nuh عليه السلام terus berdakwah kepada mereka siang dan malam, secara sembunyi-sembunyi dan terang-terangan, namun mereka tidak bertambah kecuali makin jauh, dan ﴾ قَالُواْ لَئِن لَّمۡ تَنتَهِ يَٰنُوحُ ﴿ "Mereka berkata, 'Sungguh jika kamu tidak (mau) berhenti hai Nuh'," dari dakwahmu kepada kami agar kami hanya beribadah kepada Allah saja, ﴾ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡمَرۡجُومِينَ ﴿ "niscaya benar-benar kamu akan termasuk orang-orang yang dirajam." Maksudnya, niscaya kami akan membunuhmu dengan sekeji-kejinya, yaitu dilempar dengan batu hingga mati, sebagaimana anjing dibunuh. Sungguh celaka mereka! Betapa sangat buruknya respons mereka! Mereka merespons orang yang sangat tulus nan terpercaya yang sangat sayang kepada me-reka daripada diri mereka sendiri, dengan seburuk-buruk respon.
