Al-Anbiyaa
This is a translation of Tafsīr as-Saʿdī as IslamHouse.com publishes it at saadi.islamenc.com, read from that site’s pages. The site does not say who translated it or which printed edition it follows, and states no terms for taking its text, so the right to show it is not verified. Nobody has compared it with a printed book, and no scholar has reviewed it. بَلْ تَأْتِيهِم بَغْتَةً فَتَبْهَتُهُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ 40
(40) ﴾ بَلۡ تَأۡتِيهِم ﴿ "Bahkan api neraka datang kepada mereka," dalam keadaan ﴾ بَغۡتَةٗ ﴿ "dengan sekonyong-konyong," menghenyakkan mereka karena kepanikan, kebingungan, dan lantaran rasa takut yang sangat mengerikan. ﴾ فَلَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا ﴿ "Maka mereka tidak sanggup menolaknya," sebab mereka benar-benar hina dan lemah untuk bisa melakukannya ﴾ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنظَرُونَ ﴿ "dan tidak (pula) mereka diberi (waktu) tangguh," maksudnya memperoleh penundaan tempo sehingga diakhirkan siksaan mereka. Seandainya mereka menge-tahui hakikat ini dengan sebenarnya, niscaya mereka tidak akan meminta penyegeraan siksaan bagi mereka dan akan benar-benar merasa sangat takut terhadapnya. Hanya saja, karena pengetahuan ini kosong dari diri mereka, akhirnya mereka mengatakan apa yang telah mereka lontarkan.
